Anastasia Krivenko

Born 1981 in Moscow, USSR. Lives and works in Paphos, Cyprus.

Anastasia Krivenko holds a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts with distinction from Moscow Pedagogical State University (2003). After fifteen years of work as a graphic designer and digital artist in Russia, she relocated to Cyprus in 2018. This transition marked a return to traditional drawing materials and a more tactile, process-driven practice.

Drawn to the inherent fragility of soft pastel, Krivenko explores the sensation of living on the threshold. Her work engages with liminality, the unstable and continuously reassembling nature of memory, and the fragile boundary between presence and disappearance. Working directly with her fingers, she builds surfaces that move between delicate transitions of light and color and more expressive, gestural marks, shifting fluidly between representation and abstraction.

Her work has been featured in international juried exhibitions, including the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS). Deeply rooted in the local community, Krivenko is a member of the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts (E.KA.TE) and actively initiates and participates in art-projects exploring medical and environmental fragility, such as collaborations with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), CULTURE II program of the Ministry of Culture and the RE: SOURCE environmental art initiative.
